• ASUU Commences Indefinite Strike Nationwide
• Strike Will start from 23 March 2020 and continues indefinitely -Biodun Ogunyemi

The Association Staffs Of University Union (ASUU), has on Monday 23 March announced that it has gone on an indefinite strike.
This is coming after an expired 2-weeks strike was earlier declared by the union on the 9th of March 2020.
The strike action was due to failed agreement with the union(ASUU) and non payment of salaries to lecturers who do not enroll for the compulsory Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) policy implemented by the Federal Government.
While addressing the press at its National Secretariat Abuja, The union’s National President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, said the strike action was to commence today 23rd March 2020 and continues indefinitely till the government agrees to it proceedings.
“The union has decided to embark on total and indefinite strike from Monday 23,2020” he said.
Recall that the Federal Government has earlier order the closure of all tertiary institutions including Universities over Coronavirus epidemic.
