BANK ROBBERY: Police Denies Robbery Attempt at CBN

The Police Command situated in Edo state has denied reports of alleged bank robbery at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Benin.

Recall that on Tuesday, a report that armed robbers had earlier attempted to break into Central Bank of Nigeria Benin, when a bullion van carrying cash to an unknown commercial bank was about leaving the premises.

Reacting to the report, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, Ayoola Ajala said that the robbery report was not true.

He said that the misinterpreted report has to do with some cultists who were being chased around the Museum area of the city and trying to escape through Akpakpava road where the CBN is situated.

Ajala, however, said that two of the cultists has been arrested and some arms recovered from them.
