The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Sheriff Oborevwori has been re-elected for Okpe constituency on Saturday.
Concise News understands that Oborevwori is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
While announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Emmanuel Irhabor, said the PDP polled 20, 784 to beat its closest rival, Harrison Akpojaro who scored 8,564 in the House of Assembly election for Delta State.
Irhabor added that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP polled 20,415 to Great Ogboru of the APC who scored 9,424 votes.
Speaking after voting on Saturday, the Speaker said: “I must say that I am impressed with the turn out of voters today (Saturday).
“The election is very peaceful here in my area and I want to commend the electorate for the massive turn out and their peaceful nature.
“I am very sure of victory for our party, the PDP. We have worked hard in the last four years and I am optimistic that I will be re-elected and the same for our Governor. It will surely end in praise by the Grace of God.”
