Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has won seventeen out of the eighteen local government areas announced thus far for Saturday’s governorship polls.
Concise News understands that the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) also suspended the announcement of the results in Delta till Monday.
Okowa, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has Great Ogboru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who has won one local government area.
Ogboru has been contesting the governorship election in the oil-rich state since 2003 but has failed to make it on all occasions.

In a related development a speed boat carrying some electoral materials capsized in the Niger Delta state over the weekend.
Twelve persons were said to be missing after the incident.
