A joint effort by both the Military and the Nigerian Police today has marred an attempt by armed robbers to rob a branch of First Bank of Nigeria located at Mbappe area of Abuja.
TalkmillNG learnt that the operation involved 5 armed robbers who had successfully gained entrance into the banking hall through aids from some bank personnels working at the bank, but were stuck inside the bank after security operatives laid siege around the bank premises.
According to report, one of the armed robbers was shot dead while attempting to escape during a gun fire session with security operatives, while four others were arrested.
Confirming the incident, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, said the robbers alongside some bank staff were held by the Police for questioning.
