A Federal High Court, sitting in Gusau, Zamfara State, headed by Justice Fadima Aminu has on Tuesday, ordered for the forfeiture of N60Million an amount recovered from one Murtala Muhammad by the Economic Financial Crimes Commission EFCC.According to reports, the large sum of money was recovered from Muhammad while conveying the MONEY in a four ‘GHANA-MUST-GO’ bags inside a Black Land Cruiser Prado Jeep with registration No: DKA67PX (Kaduna), at No.145 Igala Hausing Estate, off By-pass Road Gusau, Zamfara State on May 28 2019.Mohammad was charged to Court and a public announcement on National Dailies was made by the court for any person(s) claiming the funds to come forward and defend such.Upon absence of a claim, Justice Fadima ruled that a final forfeiture of the large sum and the money remitted to the Federal Government.Justice Fadina quoted thus:“A final forfeiture order of this honourable court is hereby granted, forfeiting to the Federal Government of Nigeria the money sum of N60,000,000.00 (Sixty Million Naira) and a Black Land Cruiser Prado Jeep which are reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activity.”
