A 3rd year medical student of the Niger Delta University, Ammasoma in Southern Ijaw Local Governmant Area of Bayelsa State, has committed suicide following his inability to pass his exams.
According to reports reaching Talkmill, the medicine and Surgery student of Niger Delta University Ms Ebuweni decided to take his own life following his failure to realise his own dreams.
Confirming the incident, The Public Relations Officer of the school Ndoni Ingezi, told newsmen that Ebiweni’s body had been recovered and deposited in the Sabageria hospital mortuary.
Ingezi speaks:
“When Ebiweni was counselled and informed that he would be withdrawn from the college, he accepted the decision of the college in good faith and left, only for the university to hear afterwards that the young man took his own life.”
According to Ingezi, Ebiweni and 21 other medical students were also withdrawn from the school following their inability to pass their exams. she said that according to the school’s tradition, students who don’t pass exams are withdrawn from the school but that should not warrant a student taking his own life.
