Unknown Gunmen has on Sunday, abducted the wife of a lecturer from Niger Delta University Bayelsa state.
This incident happened in Gbarantoru community in Yenagoa, according to sources from the community who spoke with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said that the wife of the lecturer identified as Dr. Charles was abducted at the early hours of Sunday amidst shooting misguidedly.
The police Bayelsa police spokesman Mr. Asinim Butswart, also confirmed the sad incident saying that the police has swung into action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
According to PMNews report, A resident who pleaded for anonymity for fear of being targeted, said that the gunmen missed their target, who evaded escape, prompting them to whisk away his wife, whom they took away in their boat.
The resident said that youths of the community mobilised to the scene of crime few minutes after the shooting only to see the lecturer emerging from where he was hiding.
